Watermelon is indeed so refreshing in summer, I love it.
But instead of plain sugar, I make a syrup from sugar, water and some lemonjuice. I make some in advance, put it in the fridge and use it for all smoothies which need sugar.
About 1 1/2 glas sugar, 1 glas water and juice of half a lemon. Bring this to a boil and let it simmer for about 20 minutes and let it cool down. Easy and better taste than plain sugar.
